ShellMenuView v1.15 Copyright (c) 2005 - 2010 Nir Sofer Web Site: http://www.nirsoft.net Description =========== ShellMenuView is a small utility that display the list of static menu items that appeared in the context menu when you right-click a file/folder on Windows Explorer, and allows you to easily disable unwanted menu items. System Requirements =================== ShellMenuView works properly on Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003/2008, and Windows 7/Vista. You can also use ShellMenuView on Windows 98 for viewing the menu items list, but the disable/enable feature won't work on this version of Windows. Using ShellMenuView =================== ShellMenuView doesn't require any installation process or additional DLLs. In order to start using it, just copy the executable file (shmnview.exe) to any folder you like, and run it. The main window of ShellMenuView displays the list of menu items. You can select one or more menu item, and enable/disable them. You can also set or remove the extended mode of menu item. When menu item is in extended mode, the item is displayed only if you press the Shift key when the context menu is opened. Command-Line Options ==================== /stext Save the list of menu commands into a regular text file. /stab Save the list of menu commands into a tab-delimited text file. /scomma Save the list of menu commands into a comma-delimited text file (csv). /stabular Save the list of menu commands into a tabular text file. /shtml Save the list of menu commands into HTML file (Horizontal). /sverhtml Save the list of menu commands into HTML file (Vertical). /sxml Save the list of menu commands into XML file. /sort This command-line option can be used with other save options for sorting by the desired column. If you don't specify this option, the list is sorted according to the last sort that you made from the user interface. The parameter can specify the column index (0 for the first column, 1 for the second column, and so on) or the name of the column, like "Menu Key" and "File Type". You can specify the '~' prefix character (e.g: "~Modified Time") if you want to sort in descending order. You can put multiple /sort in the command-line if you want to sort by multiple columns. Examples: shmnview.exe /shtml "f:\temp\menus.html" /sort 2 /sort ~1 shmnview.exe /shtml "f:\temp\menus.html" /sort "Menu Name" /sort "Extensions" /nosort When you specify this command-line option, the list will be saved without any sorting. License ======= This utility is released as freeware. You are allowed to freely distribute this utility via floppy disk, CD-ROM, Internet, or in any other way, as long as you don't charge anything for this. If you distribute this utility, you must include all files in the distribution package, without any modification ! Translating ShellMenuView to other languages ============================================ In order to translate ShellMenuView to other language, follow the instructions below: 1. Run ShellMenuView with /savelangfile parameter: shmnview.exe /savelangfile A file named shmnview_lng.ini will be created in the folder of ShellMenuView utility. 2. Open the created language file in Notepad or in any other text editor. 3. Translate all string entries to the desired language. Optionally, you can also add your name and/or a link to your Web site. (TranslatorName and TranslatorURL values) If you add this information, it'll be used in the 'About' window. 4. After you finish the translation, Run ShellMenuView, and all translated strings will be loaded from the language file. If you want to run ShellMenuView without the translation, simply rename the language file, or move it to another folder.
